3!

Sawyer turned 3 months old on Sunday. I just love him to death! He doesn't ask for much - a clean diaper, a full tummy and cuddles a few times a day. His smiles are easily given and he enjoys having 'conversations' with us. Yesterday he even laughed at me without me tickling him.

Normally a content little guy, Sawyer had a rough long weekend. He had trouble napping for any length of time during the day. He also would wake up at night, eat, fall asleep in my arms and be unable to stay asleep when I put him back in his crib. Finally at around 6am I would take him into our bed where he slept fitfully. There were four straight bad nights for us, very uncharacteristic. Sawyer would normally go right back to sleep after eating. Then it hit me that he hadn't pooped in at least a week. It's normal for him to go infrequently but it never seemed to bother him. (it's common for breastfed babies to go longer periods without pooping) Desperate for sleep and knowing something was bothering Sawyer I had Trevor pick up a suppository on Tuesday which I administered that evening. It worked within five minutes and did the job. I'll spare you the details. That night he slept from 9:30 until 6:45 and the next night the same. They say breastfed babies aren't supposed to have that issue but Sawyer sure did and he is definitely feeling better now!
